All this sunshine is giving me a little summer fever - How about you?????

Try to fit in a little extra studying this weekend as we prepare for our post test next week. I linked you to several sites for review on the last post. Today I want to remind you of the best ways to prepare for any test or stressful situation ie. a job interview.

totally stressed out

This site gives some good tips on how to handle stress.

As you are reviewing your material over the next few days - remember that reviewing is simply remembering - now is not the time to try and learn a new concept it is time to solidfy your comfort level with concepts that you have already been working on.

Get a good nights sleep

Eat breakfast

Enjoy your weekend - Give your mom a hug - See ya on Tuesday :)

It is Review Time!!!! I can't believe that it already May and we are at the end of the block! You know what they say about time flying :)

You have covered a lot of material within the last 6 weeks so take the time to go back over and remember all that you have worked on.

I will give you several links that will review what we have done together.

Integer quiz

Measurment conversion practice  -  scroll down to the worksheet practice - don't worry about doing any problems that want you to convert between standard and metric - ie  miles to km  -  only do the ones that convert within the system - standard to standard and metric to metric.

perimeter area and volume quiz

Thursday, May 2, 2013

My goodness it seems like we just started the block and poof we have one week left of class.  Just a reminder that you need to have a minimum of 60 hours in order to post test so we can check your progress.  If you are in need of more hours please talk to us ASAP!  Open lab is available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-2.  Also please be sure to hand in all homework sheets on Tuesday so I can give you an accurate hour count :)

Ok now on to some math

We have worked a lot on perimeter, circumfrence and area - if you are still feeling a little unsure about any of these areas you can go back to any old posts and redo the links.

Now for Volume

Perimeter measures the outside
Area measures the inside and is 2 dimensional
Volume measures capacity and is 3 dimensional

Volume Video

practice finding volume

aaamath practice - there are several links for different types of shapes - green box explain and blue box practice

We will be doing some word problems with perimeter, area, and volume next week.
